Our Trees and Bushes Came In

Our trees and bushes came in, time to build an orchard on our homestead. I am super excited!

They didn’t come in all at the same time, as we feared. They came in a few at a time.

April 13, 2 Pawpaw trees came in and we soaked them in a bucket of water over night.

April 14, We planted 5 Raspberry Bushes our neighbor gave us and the 2 Pawpaw trees.

April 15, the rest of the fruit trees and berry bushes came in (that was a big box!), we put them in a bucket of water to soak.

April 17, we planted the remaining 12 trees, 6 Currant Bushes, 10 Raspberry Bushes, 3 Gooseberry Bushes, and 6 Blackberry Bushes.  Whew, what a long day!

About Nelle

I am Nelle. I grew up in rural, small town, Ohio. When I was young, I learned a lot about homesteading from my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, 4-H, FFA, and others around me.
Now, I’m all grown up, have 6 children of my own, and plan to teach them everything I know.

Here on Mama’s Homestead, we talk and write about homesteading, homeschooling, and kidsteading (homesteading with kids). We teach our kids about survival, self-sufficiency, gardening (vegetable, herb, flower), orchard, beekeeping, home keeping, soap making, harvesting, cooking, food preservation, livestock, nature, crafts, homesteading tools and wares, and more…

Welcome to my homestead…come and learn with us!
