How to Make Dandelion Tea from Leaves and Flowers

July 8, 2014

I have had these bitter leaves and flowers in salads and other recipes, but I am all about learning new ways to preserve foods. I tried the dandelion tea using fresh dandelion leaves and decided to try dehydrating dandelion leaves to make tea. It is delicious and perfect for storing long term.

Learn About Dandelions

June 2, 2014

Growing Asparagus

May 14, 2014

Growing Asparagus: Ahh…Asparagus. I would have to say this is my favorite vegetable. This is one of the many perennial vegetables my parents grew on their property. Asparagus is fairly easy to grow and can produce food for your family for fifteen years or more.

Growing Rhubarb: Mom and Dad had a patch of rhubarb on their small homestead. Rhubarb is a cold hardy perennial with large leaves and pretty red stalks.

Welcome to my homestead!

Hello, I am Nelle. I grew up in rural, small town, Ohio. When I was young, I learned a lot about homesteading from my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, 4-H, FFA, and others around me.
Now, I’m all grown up, have 6 children of my own, and plan to teach them everything I know.
Welcome to my homestead…come and learn with us! Read More…
